롤러 체인과 마찰 구동 방식 중 어떤 것을 선택할지는 사용 환경에 따라 달라집니다. 롤러 체인은 오염된 환경에 대한 저항력이 뛰어나며, 벌크 제품 이송에 더 적합합니다. 피벗 체인은 부피가 큰 제품을 이송하도록 설계되었습니다. 이상적으로 두 축의 중심 간 거리는 체인 피치의 30~50배여야 합니다. 스프로킷의 크기는 사용 환경에 따라 결정되며, 이는 체인의 피로 강도와 내구성에도 영향을 미칩니다.
롤러 체인은 오염된 환경에 더 강합니다.
구동 체인과 롤러 체인 사이에는 몇 가지 중요한 차이점이 있습니다. 가장 눈에 띄는 차이점은 재질입니다. 구동 체인은 일반적으로 롤러 체인보다 내구성이 뛰어납니다. 그러나 두 체인 모두 오염된 환경에 취약합니다. 솔루션 체인은 때때로 고하중 작업에 사용되는 반면, 롤러 체인은 오염이 심한 환경에서 주로 사용됩니다. 실제로, 작업 현장이 매우 오염되어 있고 체인이 레일 위에서 미끄러져야 할 때 구동 체인이 많이 사용됩니다.

무윤활 롤러 체인은 체인을 더 오랫동안 깨끗하게 유지해 줍니다. 따라서 위생 기준이 엄격한 구역에서 설치 및 사양을 정하기가 더 쉽습니다. CZPT 무윤활 롤러 체인은 NSF-H1 윤활 기준을 충족합니다. 하지만 식품과의 접촉 가능성이 낮은 구역에서는 윤활식 롤러 체인도 여전히 사용할 수 있습니다.
스테인리스강 롤러 체인은 산성, 알칼리성 및 저온 환경에 특히 강합니다. 스테인리스강은 탄소강보다 부드럽기 때문에 윤활유를 사용해도 체인에 이물질이 침투하는 것을 효과적으로 방지할 수 없습니다. 스테인리스강 롤러 체인은 일반 체인보다 강도가 높지만 탄소강 체인만큼 강하지는 않습니다. 오염이 심한 환경에서 롤러 체인을 사용하는 경우에는 스테인리스강 체인을 사용하는 것이 좋습니다.
스터드 체인은 마찰 구동 방식보다 효율이 더 높습니다.
본 발명은 기존 체인보다 효율적인 경량 양단형 스터드 체인에 관한 것이다. 스터드 체인은 봉강을 다이 단조하여 대략적인 형상의 링크로 제작된다. 이 방법은 굽힘으로 인한 전단 강도 손실을 방지하고 용접 부위를 최소화한다. 양단형 스터드 체인은 무게가 가볍고 피로 손상에 대한 저항성이 우수하다.
