A worm equipment technique is composed of a worm and worm wheel. The worm resembles a screw, which meets with a worm wheel, as proven in the photo. When rotational electrical power is applied to the worm, it rotates in opposition to the wheel and transfers electricity to the worm wheel. The technique is designed so that the worm can simply change the gear, but the gear are not able to flip the worm. In some designs, the friction among the equipment and worm retains the worm in spot.
